Know your foam Waste materials
As for foam materials,we can refer to EPS,XPS,EPE,Sponge,PU etc,it is a wide scope of foam materials.There is different condition for each foam materials.Such as EPS foam,it exists as loose foam condition,but it is light weight and big volume,so recyclers always compress it by hot melt or mechnical compression into heavy lump and ingots which is easy for transportation.We will not talk all foam materials,we focus on EPS foam now.

Know crushing rotor and knife inside crusher chamber
Rotors and knives are most important tool for crushers.Engineers for crushers design different crushing rotors and knives to crush effectively for different materials.For loose foam waste,it is loose and light,it is easy to crush,so rotors are knives are simple design and it is commonly used.The knives are sharp and long size.
For EPS lump and ingots,it is dense and heavy.The common rotors and knives are not strong enough to shear it.So engineers design hammer type knives and rotors are heavy duty.
Number of rotors and knives
The number of knives used in foam crusher is different based on the design.Horizontal foam crusher is available with one rotor or two rotors,vertical foam crusher is available with two rotors. It is the combination of cutting chamber size, output type, number of knives and motor speed that affects the overall speed of a crusher.
Motor Power
The electric motor is one of the most expensive parts used in a foam crusher. It is not necessarily true that a faster motor will produce better results, but it is the combination of various factors (e.g. dynamtic balancing, drive belts and bearing) that produces the best crushing efficiency.
More crusher capacity needs bigger motor power.Foam Crusher for loose foam is less power than crusher for lump and ingots.
Output Size
The crushed size relies on rotors and filter screen opening size. We recommend the size to be from 4mm to 50mm. Different crushers can output different size for your application.Under the same specs of a plastic grinder, smaller the screen size results in smaller output, because it takes a longer time size reduce the foam waste to the desired size.
